Native to Asia, sweet orange reached Europe via Arab trade routes and was widely cultivated along the Mediterranean coast from the 15th century onward, becoming a fixture of European cuisine and fragrance culture. 甜橙原生於亞洲，經由阿拉伯商人的貿易路線傳入歐洲，15 世紀後在地中海沿岸廣泛栽種，逐漸成為歐洲人餐桌與香氛文化中的重要角色。
