Bergamot is named after the town of Bergamo in Calabria, Italy, where it was first commercially cultivated in the 18th century. Its scent became a foundational note in the earliest formulations of Eau de Cologne. 佛手柑得名於義大利卡拉布里亞省的貝加莫鎮，18 世紀開始於此地商業化栽種，其香氣也成為古龍水（Eau de Cologne）最早期的核心用油之一。
